Priyankar Mukherjee (102) and Mithun Dutta (103) smashed centuries each while Monomit Mitra (5-117) and Amit Banerjee (3-60) were impressive with the ball as Uttarpalli Milan Samity beat Burnpur Cricket Club by 127 runs in the quarterfinal match to make their way into the semifinals of the CAB Second Division Championship on Thursday. Batting first, Uttarpalli Milan Sangha post 373 on Day 1. In reply, Burnpur Cricket Club were bowled out for 246 on Day 2.
In other quarterfinal matches, Suman Dey (5-85), Ranjan Saha (78), Supriyo Sil (76) helped Cricket Club of Bhawanipore beat Calcutta Cricket Club by 2 wickets. Earlier, Cricket Club of Bhawanipore bowled out Calcutta Cricket Club for 287. In reply, Cricket Club of Bhawanipore chased it down scoring 289/8.
Subhadip Barman scored a fine match-winning 94 while Md Shahab Alam and Pradunya Sarkar bagged three wickets each as Behala Friends Union Club beat Vijay Sports Club by 1 wicket. Batting first, Mahi (91 not out) and Shantadeep Pal (68) helped Vijay Sports Club post 242. For Behala Friends Union, In reply, Behala Friends Union chased it down scoring 243/9.
