Bhawanipore reach 97/2 vs East Bengal on rain-hit

Bhawanipore Club managed to reach 97/2 at stumps on a rain-hit Day 1 against East Bengal in the semifinal of the First Division Championship multi-day meet on Thursday.
Abhimanyu Easwaran remained unbeaten on 48 along with Sandipan Das (7 not out). For East Bengal, Sumit Mohanta and Akash Ghatak bagged a wicket each.
The other semifinal between Kalighat and Md. Sporting Club was called off for the day due to rain.
