Kalighat, Calcutta Custom, Md Sporting & Town Club in quarterfinals of 1st Div Qualifier meet

Kalighat, Calcutta Custom Club, Mohammedan Sporting Club and Town Club registered comfortable victories in their respective pre-quarterfinal matches to make their way into the quarterfinals of the First Division Qualifier and Championship meet on Tuesday.
In the first match, Riding on a brilliant unbeaten 185 by Aditya Purohit followed by a brilliant spell of bowling by Vaibhav Yadav (6-37), Mohammedan Sporting Club outclassed Ananda Bazar Patrika Sporting Club by a massive 398 runs. Vikas (97) and Gitimoy Basu (67) also impressed.
In other matches, Vikas Singh (6-48) was impressive with the ball, while Subham Chatterjee (92) also chipped in with useful runs as Kalighat beat Kolkata Union Sporting Club by 6 wickets.
Suraj Sindhu Jaiswal (4-53), Souvick Ghosh (3-32) and Sayan Kumar Biswas (60) helped Calcutta Custom Club beat Aikya Sammilani by 8 wickets. Anas Ali Khan scored a fine 50 for Aikya Sammilani.
Sujit Kumar Yadav (6-7) was superb with the ball as Town Club defeated Sporting Union by 8 wickets.
