Arkadipta (153), Swastik (100) help Kumartuli Institute enter quarterfinals of CAB Jr U-18 Invitational meet

Riding on brilliant centuries each by Arkadipta Mandal (153) and Swastik Maiti (100), Kumartuli Institute defeated Mohammedan Sporting Club by 2 runs in the pre-quarterfinal match to make their way into the quarterfinals of the CAB Junior Under-18 Invitational One-Day league-cum-knockout tournament on Thursday. Karn Paswan scored a fine 99 for Md. Sporting.
In other matches, Chandrahas Dash scored a brilliant 138 off 89 balls while Baibhab Tiwari bagged 4 for 48 as United Club beat Sporting Union by 138 runs.
Rohit Pradhan (91), Ricky Sharma (46, 3-36), Arman Shah (2-50) and Ayush Bhattacharya (44) delivered dominant performances as Calcutta Police Club defeated East Bengal Club by 5 wickets in a thrilling contest.
Pushpal Halder (101), Bhaskar Roy (88, 4-42), Tanmoy Dey (3-48) helped Aurora Athletic Club beat Bantra Cricket Club by 9 wickets.
Arjun Singh (72), Rajat Nag (51), Satyajit Mondal (2-27) helped Monohar Pukur Milan Samity beat Ballygunge United Club by 4 wickets. Jagmohan Prasad Gupta scored 63 also bagging 3 for 41 for Ballygunge.
Pritam Biswas (77, 2-5), Biru Hela (72), Aritra Chakraborty (2-41) helped Bengal Sporting Club beat Uttarpalli Milan Sangha by 3 wickets.
Yash Dwibedi (87), Anuj Singh (3-46) helped Basdroni Young Bengal Sporting Association beat White Border Club by 3 wickets. Dipanjan Maji scored 52.
Ejaj Ahamed Mallick (50), Kushal Gupta (3-30), Ramij Raja (2-40) helped Measurers Club beat Kalighat Club by 45 runs. Suprajit Purkait scored a fine 95 for Kalighat.
