Uttarpalli Milan Sangha & South Suburban Club enter
semifinals of CAB Second Division One-Day meet

Uttarpalli Milan Sangha and South Suburban Club registered comfortable victories in their respective quarterfinal matches to make their way into the semifinals of the CAB Second Division One-Day league-cum-knockout tournament on Wednesday.
In the first quarterfinal match, Arup Kumar Saha (6-21) was brilliant with the ball, while Sayan Bhowmik (40) was also impressive as South Suburban Club beat Aurora Athletic Association by 5 wickets.
In the second quarterfinal, Amit Banerjee (5-31) was superb with the ball while Swastik Maiti scored a fine 58 as Uttarpalli Milan Samity beat Gymkhana by 8 wickets.
In the pre-quarterfinal matches played in the day, Sanjit Sardar (88, 3-34) and Suman Dey (3-21) helped Cricket Club of Bhawanipore beat Bengal Sporting Club by 56 runs to enter the last-eight stage. Majid Md bagged 4 for 32 for Bengal Sporting.
In other matches, Manish Kumar (47, 3-53) displayed a superb all-round performance as Greer Sporting Club beat Jorabagan Club by 1 wicket. A brilliant 103 by Jorabagan's Victor Upadhyay and a fine bowling by Jayveer Chaudhury (4-43) went in vain.
Rohit Sen (5-28) was superb with the ball along with Amjad Ali (3-31) as Ballygunge Sporting Association beat Basdroni Young Bengal Sporting Association by flip of the coin after the match was tied.
Labib Khan (5-29) was impressive with the ball while Pradunya Sarkar (78), Md Dilshad (63) also chipped in with useful runs as Behala Friends Union Club beat White Border Club by 78 runs. Kishalaya Mondal bagged 3 for 41.
