Shashank hits 138 as East Bengal bag first innings
lead after draw vs Tapan Memorial in First Division League

Shashank Singh scored a fine 138 along with Ayan Gupta (87) as East Bengal Club bagged first innings lead after their CAB First Division League Group A match against Tapan Memorial Club ended in a draw on Monday.
Earlier after posting 381 in their first innings, East Bengal bundled out Tapan Memorial Club for 271. Amrit Raj Upadhyay bagged 5 for 55. East Bengal in their second innings scored 256/4 decl, thanks to Shashank and Ayan. Chasing a massive target, Tapan Memorial Club were 23 for no loss when stumps were drawn on the third and final day.
In the second match, Ankit Mishra (5-60, 5-54) was superb with the ball, bagging a 10-wicket haul in the match as Barisha Sporting Club outclassed BNR Recreation Club by an innings and 26 runs.
After posting 366 in their first innings, Barisha Sporting Club bundled out BNR Recreation Club for 175. Following on, BNR Recreation Club in their second innings were bowled out for 165, thanks to some outstanding bowling effort by Ankit and Anurag Tiwari (5-83).
In the third match, Town Club's Shakir Habib Gandhi (154 not out) and Jahir Ahammed (103 not out) smashed brilliant centuries each in the second innings but it was not enough at the end as Calcutta Custom Club bagged first innings lead after their match ended in a draw.
Earlier, Calcutta Custom Club managed to post 298 in their first innings, in reply to Town Club's score of 179. Town Club in their second innings reached 284/1 decl when stumps were drawn.
In the fourth match, Mohun Bagan bagged first innings lead after their match against Paikpara Sporting Club ended in a draw. After posting a mammoth 788/8 in their first innings, Mohun Bagan bundled out Paikpara for 372. Agniva Mukhopadhyay (161) and Sumit Nag (65) impressed with the bat. Rohit Kumar bagged 6 for 89 for Mohun Bagan.
Mohun Bagan in their second innings scored 125/4 decl to hand a massive target to Paikpara. Avilin Ghosh scored a fine 54. Chasing the target, Paikpara were 81/1 at stumps.
In the fifth match, Kalighat Club managed to bag first innings lead after their match against Mohammedan Sporting Club ended in a draw.
Earlier after posting 261 in their first innings, Kalighat Club bundled out Mohammedan Sporting Club for 156. Kalighat in their second innings scored 225 to hand a challenging target to Md Sporting. Kaushik Ghosh scored 66 while Nitin Verma bagged 4 for 67 for Kalighat. Chasing the target, Md Sporting were 44/4 at stumps.
