Club to victory in CAB Second Division Two-Day meet

Pratik Dutta scored a brilliant 120 while Sudip Roy (102, 3-84) displayed an all-round performance to help South Suburban Club beat Taltala Institute by 5 wickets on the second day in the CAB Second Division league-cum-knockout tournament on Wednesday. Batting first, Manish Singh Rawat scored a fine 124 as Taltala Institute posted 298. For South Suburban Club, Venkatesh Reddy bagged 5 for 94. In reply, South Suburban Club chased it down scoring 299/5.
In other matches, Animesh Paul (99) and Ayush Bhattacharya (90) batted superbly to help Gymkhana chase down a massive total and beat Mohun Lal Club by 1 wicket. Batting first, Amit Roy smashed a superb unbeaten 193 as Mohun Lal Club posted 401/7. In reply, Gymkhana chased it down scoring 402/9.
Irshad Alam (7-81) was brilliant with the ball as Taltala Ekata Sangha beat Aurora Athletic Association by 3 wickets. Batting first, Aurora Athletic Association were bowled out for 223. In reply, Taltala Ekata Sangha chased it down scoring 224/7, thanks to Atmaja Mondal (57).
Shanu Qureshi bagged 3 for 88 followed by a match-winning superb 113 as Abasar beat Satya Sandhi by 3 wickets. Batting first, Rajbinder Singh Gill smashed a superb 165 off 97 balls as Satya Sandhi posted 345. In reply, Abasar chased it down scoring 347/7. Yash Sharma bagged 4 for 121.
Suprojit Purkait scored 148 off 201 balls while Argha Dolai bagged 5 for 157 as WB Association of the Deaf beat Friends Sporting Union by 51 runs. Batting first, WB Association of the Deaf post 418/9. For Friends Sporting Union, Jai Kishor Yadav bagged 4 for 136. In reply, Friends Sporting Union managed to score 367.
Dipanshu Upadhyay smashed a fine 112 followed by bagging 4 for 70 as Friends Athletic Club beat Calcutta University Institute by 104 runs. Batting first, Friends Athletic Club posted 296. For Calcutta University Institute, Ariyan Gowala bagged 5 for 71. In reply, Calcutta University Institute were bundled out for 192.
Shivam Singh (106, 2-55), Sujal Kr Gupta (77) and Amit Kumar Yadav (71) helped High Court Club beat Balak Sangha by 139 runs. Batting first, High Court posted 433/8. For Balak Sangha, Shivam Bharati bagged 3 for 82. In reply, Balak Sangha were bowled out for 294.
Pradunya Sarkar bagged 4 for 59 followed by a match-winning 106 as Behala Friends Union beat Cricket Club of Dhakuria by 4 wickets. Batting first, Chandan Giri (57) and Rupak Kr Yadav (52) helped Cricket Club of Dhakuria post 207. In reply, Behala Friends Union chased it down scoring 209/6.
Suman Ghosh (79) and Rohitaswa Manna (60) helped Basdroni Young Bengal Sporting Association post 250. Aayush Agarwal bagged 5 for 82. In reply, Excelsiors Club were 74/1 at stumps on Day 1.
