Shakir Habib's superb 223 powers Town Club to 446 in First Division League

Riding on a brilliant 223 by Shakir Habib Gandhi, Town Club managed to reach a commendable 446 in their first innings against Mohammedan Sporting Club in the CAB First Division League Group A match on Tuesday. For Mohammedan Sporting, Nitin Verma bagged 6 for 82.
In reply, Md. Sporting reached 281/9 in their first innings at stumps on Day 2, thanks to Jayojit Basu (100) and Abhijit Singh (59). For Town Club, Sujit Kumar Yadav bagged 5 for 91 while Sandeep Tomar claimed 4 for 32.
In the second match, Bishal Ghosh (122) and Abhijeet Bhagat (103) smashed superb centuries each as BNR Recreation Club reached 277/5 in their first innings at stumps. For Mohun Bagan, Arnab Nandi and Prakash Kumar Roy bagged two wickets each.
Earlier, Suvankar Bal scored a fine 116 along with S Yadav (106 not out) and Sudip Kumar Gharami (92) as Mohun Bagan Club managed to post 456 in their first innings. For BNR Recreation Club, Arghya Sengupta bagged 5 for 118.
In the third match, Jesal Karia (102) and Arindam Das (54) helped Bhawanipore Club post 260 in their first innings. For Kalighat Club, B Amit (6-88) was impressive with the ball. In reply, Kalighat Club managed to reach 214/5 at stumps in their first innings thanks to Anustup Majumdar (83 not out) and Writam Porel (54). For Bhawanipore, Saikat Banerjee bagged 3 for 44.
In the fourth match, Amitoze Singh scored a brilliant 144 along with Ayan Bhattacharya (78) as East Bengal Club managed to post 306 in their first innings. For Paikpara Sporting Club, Viswajeet Mishra bagged 4 for 73. In reply, Paikpara Sporting were 168/4 at stumps. Agniva Mukhopadhyay top-scored with unbeaten 51. For East Bengal, Sumit Mohanta bagged 2 for 20.
In the fifth match, rding on a superb 133 by Shantanu, Tapan Memorial Club posted 363 in their first innings. For Calcutta Custom Club, Dilshad Khan bagged 4 for 111. In reply, Calcutta Custom Club were 216/8 at stumps, thanks to Aurka Pratim Das (73) and Samik Karmakar (53). For Tapan Memorial Club, Ramesh Prasad bagged 6 for 52.
