CAB President XI beat CAB Secretary XI by 37 runs in a thrilling match

In a match to celebrate the 96th Foundation Day, CAB President XI, led by CAB President Snehashish Ganguly, defeated CAB Secretary XI led by Naresh Ojha by a margin of 37 runs at the Eden Gardens on Wednesday.
Opting to bat in a 15-over side match, CAB President XI got off to a flying start scoring 33 runs in 4 overs, thanks to openers Kalyan Dhall (17) and IB Roy (10).
Next up, the skipper of CAB President XI Mr Ganguly arrived at the crease amidst a huge applause.
In his time at the crease, the left-handed batsman rolled back the years, displaying some outstanding skills with the bat in both the off and the led side.
In his 14-run knock, Ganguly hit one boundary.
Saket Sudan top-scored with 22 runs as CAB President XI managed to post a competitive 158/2 in 15 overs.
For CAB Secretary XI, Saptarshi Basu bagged two wickets.
Chasing a challenging target, CAB Secretary XI got off to a cautious start.
Rakesh Krishnan (20) and Ambarish Mitra (25) were impressive with the bat.
Besides the duo, the other batters struggled to make an impact.
In the end, Arindam Das scored a quickfire 20 runs.
With wickets falling at regular intervals, CAB Secretary XI fell short of the target, scoring 121/8 in 15 overs.
For CAB President XI, Rupnath Roy Chowdhury was superb with the ball bagging 2 for 16. Devendra Roy and Prabir Kr Acharya also bagged two each.
