Riding on a dominant all-round performance, North 24-PGS defeated Midnapore by 58 runs in the final at the Eden Gardens on Wednesday to emerge champions of the CAB Inter-District Under-18 Two-Day tournament.
Earlier, opting to bat, Rupak Dutta scored a fine 100 along with Archish Biswas (94) and Bivanshu (64) as North 24-PGS posted a challenging 341 at stumps on Day 1.
For Midnapore, Tanmai Dutta (4-45) and Sukriti Jana (4-95) were superb with the ball, while Aditya Kumar and Sourapratim Patra bagged a wicket each.
In reply, Midnapore dealt an early blow losing their opener in the second ball of their innings.
However, Swastik Maiti played a fighting knock of 102 off 174 balls to give their side some hope of a comeback in the match.
But wickets at regular intervals put Midnapore in a lot of trouble.
