Shami, Deepti named best men's and women's International Cricketers at BCCI awards

Bengal star fast bowler Mohammad Shami and all-rounder Deepti Sharma has won the best men's and women's international cricketer awards respectively at the BCCI awards in Hyderabad.
Indian Cricket legend Jhulan Goswami was also awarded for being the Highest Wicket-Taker in ODIs during the year 2020-21.
While Shami won the award for the Best International Cricketer in the Men's Category for the 2019-20 season, Deepti won the prestigious award for two seasons - 2019-20 and 2022-23.
Shami was superb during the year 2019-20, where he troubled each and every opposition with his lethal pace. He was also brilliant with the ball for India in the recently concluded Cricket World Cup at home.
On the other hand, Deepti was a key member of the India side that won the Women's Asia Cup and the Asian Games gold medal.
Last week, Deepti was also named the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for December 2023 following her batting and bowling brilliance in all three formats securing notable victories for India over England and Australia.
The Cricket Association of Bengal would like to congratulate Jhulan, Shami and Deepti for receiving such prestigious awards.
