Shakir slams 202 as Town Club grabs first innings
lead vs Paikpara Sporting in First Division League

Shakir Habib Gandhi smashed a superb unbeaten 202 along with Akash Sarkar (117) as Town Club took first innings lead after their CAB First Division League Group A match against Paikpara Sporting Club ended in a draw on the third and final day on Thursday.
After bowling out Paikpara Sporting Club for 262 in their first innings, Town Club posted a massive 505/4 to grab the first innings lead. While Paikpara Sporting Club, in their second innings were 96/4 at stumps. Salman Ahmed took 2 for 2. Geet Puri also bagged an impressive 7 for 79 for Town.
In the second match, Vikas bagged 10 wickets in the match as Mohammedan Sporting Club took first innings lead after their match against Mohun Bagan ended in a draw. After bowling out Mohun Bagan for 226 in their first innings, Md. Sporting posted 258 to grab the first innings lead.
Sambit Roy smashed a superb 103. In their second innings, Mohun Bagan were bundled out for 191. Chasing a tricky target, Md. Sporting were 67/5 at stumps.
In the third match, Amitoze Singh scored a fine 120 while Abhishek Das (96), Mithilesh Das (84) also impressed as East Bengal took first innings lead after their match against Calcutta Custom Club ended in a draw.
After bowling out Calcutta Custom Club for 181 in their first innings, East Bengal managed to post a massive 584/7. For Calcutta Custom Club, Arshad Khan and Souvick Ghosh bagged three wickets each. While Calcutta Custom Club, in their second innings, were 224/2 at stumps. Chirag Pathak scored a fine 92 along with Samik (74 not out). Shreyan Chakraborty bagged 2 for 71.
In the fourth match, Kalighat Club took first innings lead after their match against BNR Recreation Club ended in a draw. After bowling out BNR Recreation Club for 289 in their first innings, Kalighat posted 409/6 decl, thanks to Abhishek Bose (96), Abhishek Raman (52), Kaushik Ghosh (75) and Debabrata Das (77).
Anirban Gupta impressed with 2 for 76. In reply, BNR Recreation Club, in their second innings, were 123/8 decl at stumps. Sayed Irfan Aftab bagged 4 for 62.
