Hooghly emerge champions in CAB Inter District Sr One-Day meet

Hooghly defeated Burdwan by 2 runs in a nail-bitting final to emerge champions in the CAB Inter District Senior One-Day league-cum-knockout tournament at the Eden Gardens on Monday.
Batting first, Hooghly posted 206/9 in 45 overs, thanks to Sonu Naubagh (58) and Abhro Das (51).
For Burdwan, Sanjiv Kumar Singh (4-34) was impressive with the ball.
In reply, Burdwan fell short of the target and were bundled out for 204 in 45 overs. Aishik Patel scored a fine 66.
Sarit Dutta bagged 4 for 36 while Raja Yadav took 3 for 18 for Hooghly.
