Pink-Ball Mayor’s Cup final at Eden begins in style

The much-awaited final of the Mayor’s Cup Inter School tournament between Ratnakar North Point School and St Johns Public School began in a rousing fashion at the Eden Gardens on Saturday.
Just before the toss of coin, CAB Hony Secretary Naresh Ojha, Vice President Amalendu Biswas, Hony Joint Secretary Debrabrata Das, School Committee Chairman Sanjay Das and other CAB officials greeted the players of both the teams and spoke to them on how this platform can help them dream big and build a career in cricket.
Also present for the ocassion was Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim. He was felicitated by Mr Debrabrata Das and Mr Amalendu Biswas.
Madhav Mundhra, Manager, Product & Growth, KKR was also present.
The Principal of both the schools Dr. Rajesh Pandey of Ratnakar North Point School and Mr Parmatma Yadav of St Johns Public School were also present.
Wishing luck to both the teams, Mr Ojha said, "I wish both the teams the very best for the final. I hope the better team wins. It is a moment of great pride and opportunity for both the teams to play at this iconic ground. This platform will help them build themselves for the future."
To make the final even more entertaining and popular among the young players, the match at the iconic Eden Gardens is being played with Pink ball and under lights. The match will be a two-day affair with 85-overs per side match.
