CAB get best Pitch and Ground Award
23rd May 2017
It was a proud moment for the Cricket Association of Bengal on being adjudged with the ‘Best ground and Pitch Award’ by BCCI after successful completion of the 10th edition of Indian Premiere League.
"The award is dedicated to all the members who have put in a great show. Also hearty congratulations to the curator and the ground staff without whom it wouldn't have been possible. Same applies to all the other staff, technical support team and each one of those associated with organising the event including authorities and agencies. We thank the concerned government departments, KMC, PWD and Police, Fire departments and media too for continued support," said Hony Jt. Secretary Avishek Dalmiya, who received the award on behalf of CAB after the nail-biting final at Hyderabad.
On this occasion CAB also thanked the engineering team for increasing the pumping out capacity during this edition's IPL from 60 HP to 140 HP that helped in getting the ground ready in no time even after the squall on May 13.
“It has helped in draining out water considerably, not to forget the coring done at Eden and the covers procured by CAB last year. Also, the super soppers did their bit. But having said that, it's the curator with his team of grounds men who had to battle it out amidst squalls, thunderstorms and rains. One must appreciate their extraordinary efforts,” he added.
