Bengal U-19 team post 246 against Tamil Nadu in Cooch Behar Trophy

Aniket Biswas scored a fine 69 as Bengal Under-19 team managed to post 246 in their first innings against Tamil Nadu on Day 1 in the Cooch Behar Trophy at the BCA Ground in Kalyani on Friday.
For Tamil Nadu P Vignesh (7-77) was superb with the ball while B Sachin (2-39) and V S Karthick Manikandan (1-44) also impressed.
In reply, Tamil Nadu, in their first innings, were 29 for no loss at stumps.
Earlier, put into bat, Bengal got off to a slow start losing opener Arkadipta Mandal (2) in the 8th over with 12 runs on the board.
However, Aniket held fort at the other end.
Sayan Dey (14), Rohit Pradhan (13) and Agniswar Das (16) all got off to good starts but failed to convert it into big ones.
Chandrahas Dash (46) came up with a much-needed knock to help team cross the 150-run mark but wickets at the other end put pressure on the hosts.
After Bengal were reduced to 178/9, Koushik Dhibar (20 not out) and Yudhajit Guha (42) put up a brave effort to score a crucial 68-run partnership for the final wicket to take team close to the 250-run mark.
