Bengal go down to Tamil Nadu by 5 wickets in Vijay Hazare Trophy

Bengal went down to Tamil Nadu by 5 wickets in the Vijay Hazare Trophy Group E clash at the Cricket Club of India in Mumbai on Monday.
Put into bat after a delayed start due to wet outfield, Bengal faced a stern test against the Tamil Nadu bowlers.
After being reduced to 12/3 inside four overs, Abishek Porel (14), Anushtup Majumdar (11), Shakir Habib Gandhi (19) and Shahbaz Ahmed (20) all got off to good starts but failed to convert into big ones as Bengal were bowled out for 84 in 23.4 overs.
Sandeep Warrier (4-23), T Natrajan (2-20), Baba Aparijith (2-18), R Sai Kishore (1-0) and Varun Chakravarthy (1-0) impressed with the ball for Tamil Nadu.
In reply, Tamil Nadu batters too found the going tough against the Bengal bowlers after the start.
The Dinesh Karthik-led side were reduced to 65/5 but Baba Indrajith (17 not out) and Shahrukh Khan (9 not out) kept their cool to take Tamil Nadu over the line.
For Bengal, Mohammad Kaif (2-12), Ishan Porel (2-40) and Akash Deep (1-27) were the pick of the bowlers.
After two wins from three games, Bengal will next take on Madhya Pradesh in their fourth Group match on Wednesday.
