Writam hits 102 as Kalighat win big in CAB 1st Div One-Day Meet

Writam Porel scored a fine 102 as Kalighat Club defeated Tollygunge Agragrami by 111 runs in the CAB First Division One-Day League-cum-Knockout tournament on Saturday. Batting first, Kalighat posted 320 in 42 overs. In reply, Tollygunge Agragrami managed only 209/9 in 45 overs. Vikas Singh and Aritra Chatterjee bagged three wickets each for Kalighat.
In other matches, Sourav Paul (100) helped East Bengal Club beat Bhukailash Sporting Club by 128 runs. Batting first, East Bengal posted 316/4 while Bhukailash Sporting Club scored 188/4 in 45 overs. Souren Roy scored a fine 109 for Bhukailash Sporting.
A brilliant 146 off 122 balls by Ashish Pandey was not enough as Kolkata Union Sporting Club went down to Belgachia United Club by 5 wickets. Chandan Singh scored a fine 74 along with Snehashish Saha (72).
Sharnik Banerjee (70) helped Rajasthan Club beat Sporting Union by 4 wickets. Sahityaa Hazra (58) and Abhay Singh (3-57) impressed for Sporting Union.
Narayan Rana (72), Abhijeet Bhagat (3-18) and Rahul Basfore (3-45) helped B.N.R Recreation Club beat Calcutta Police Club by 23 runs.
Amanjyoti Singh (5-17, 54) and Dipanjan Mukherjee (57) helped Netaji Subhas Institute beat Ananda Bazar Patrika Sports Club by 5 wickets.
