Saurabh hit ton in U19 against England
23rd February 2017
Saurabh Singh scored 109 off 292 balls against an aggressive English attack to take India to 388 for 9 before declaring their first Innings in an U19 match today in Nagpur. English finished the day 34 for 2 in their second essay, leading India by 21 runs.
Saurabh anchored the innings after coming out to bat at 68 for 1. He went on to build partnerships with Daryl S Ferrario (55) and Siddharth Akre (54) before was trapped by Euan Woods putting India to a comfortable position at 337 for 6.
“They were very aggressive from the beginning. We had to be patient to score runs. It feels good to score century against an international side,” said Saurabh.
“I studied their approach. But I was unfortunate with the way I got out. The ball suddenly jumped from the rough, I could not control it and was caught at point,” he added.
