Sunit Ghosh no more

Former International Umpire Sunit Kumar Ghosh passed away today at a city hospital after protracted illness. He was 87 and survived by two sons.
He officiated in two Test matches and seven ODIs.
He is remembered as Biltu da in the maidan and formed a memorable duo with Bhairab Gangopadhyay. In 2016 he was felicitated with an memorial award during CAB’s Annual Prize Day.
“It is a sad day. His services to cricket will always be remembered. On behalf of the association I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family,” said CAB President Avishek Dalmiya.
The association flag has been kept half mast as a mark of honour to the departed.
